Back Again

well i'm back again! i'm going to try this blog thing again, hopefully i'll keep it up this time. the latest news is we've added a new member to the family, i'm working in the oil industry, the wife is working from home as a free-lance editor and i don't have a car, i now drive a scooter to work when it's not below 50 degrees. i'm still working 2 jobs for the time being. i'm hoping to change this in the near future.

in other news, the wife and i are doing P90X together and loving it! we're both leaning out and building muscle. (i'm building muscle, she's just leaning out) this time around it's a lot better having someone to do it with. She pushes me and i push her which make the workouts more intense. we're in the 5th week of the program and we've got 7 weeks to go.

we started off the year by eating healthier and going off pop/soda. i still have the pepsi & sugar cravings on occasion. it's been easier to stay off pop and sugar when my wife is my accountability partner. she'll get on to me if i make a comment about eating or drinking something bad. our goals are to feel and be a healthier family. so far, so good and i can't wait to see the results in 7 weeks from now physically inside and out.

chest and back was an amazing workout, it left me pumped and drained of juice. all i have to say is 1day down 89 to go. not sure if i should post pics of my progress :/ ? well see if not i will def post some when i'm done. i'm looking forward to today's workout, i hear it's pretty challenging.

longest and toughest

today i'm starting the longest and toughest new years resolution ever. i'm doing P90X for 90 days!!! i've heard people say it's too hard and other people say you're crazy for trying it. i'm going to prove these people wrong. the workouts are about an hour each with a warm up and a cool down in the hour. i'm not sure how hard it's going to be at the beginning, all i know that in 90 days i will be at my physical goals. i'll be posting as i go through the workout so keep checking back.

i wish more people would be polite and courteous to one another. there are a few people that i interact with on a daily basis that are rude and ugly to people. it bugs the crap out of me when someone can't say "please" or "thank you" all they care about is what's going on in their bubble. so if someone gets the door for you or lets you go ahead in traffic say "thank you" you never know what kind of impact you can make on someone. say please to a barista at Starbucks or a server at restaurant when ordering. let's be a little nicer to each other.

today andie and i are flying solo at home while joy is at a conference. so far it's been a good morning. she ate her breakfast and we played, then she went down for a nap. when she gets up i'm hoping the rest of the day goes well too. she is such a great kid, i couldn't have asked for a better daughter. while she was eating this morning it started snowing and she was just mesmerized by the snow(she started smiling and laughing at the snow) she still can't crawl but she'd rather start running, not walking but running. i have a had time keeping up with her because my back starts to hurt from being hunched over. when i hear her laugh all that pain goes away (well most of it)

todays the big day! i'm having my wisdom teeth taken out and i kinda nervous. a million things racing through my mind, how will it go? how long will it take? is it going to hurt afterwards? etc. everyone tells me different story about their experiences, so i'm not sure what to expect. well i hope to get back to you and tell you my story.

the weekend is finally here and i'm so tiered. i love saturday mornings because i get to sleep in (8am :/) and lounge in my pj's for a while. i love my weekends because i get to spend time with my family and friends(family of course is the best) this morning andie was in bed with us and she was tugging on my clothes and face to wake up, but papa wasn't ready to get up. when i did wake up she came back to bed with joy and we played together. i will always treasure these moments with her and joy. all i can say is i love my life!

wow it's been a while since i've posted, sorry about that peep's. i've been busy with work and i've been trying to get my biz up and going. that way i can maybe go down to one job and a normal work schedule. maybe i can have obama for a bail-out or even better a job at the white house. jk i want to get things going on the side so that one day i can be self employed.

my friend chris called me and invited us to go up to whistler, b.c. canada of week to snowboard. the trip is not planned till may, but i'm thinking it's not going to happen. i wish we could go to get a away and spend time with chris and nat. i haven't snowboarded in about 3 years, so i'm hurting to snowboard. i want to start putting money aside for a trip up to portland (want to live there)

post vacation thoughts

while joy, andie and i were on our way to the airport to catch our flight home i got very sad. i didn't want to leave the 80 degree weather, sun and beach. i wanted to stay another week, but that didn't happen. it was a great trip i would love to do it again with friends and family. cancun was better to us this time around. watching andie play on the beach was one of my favorite things. she wasn't big on the whole ocean thing. (the waves scared her) i can't wait till she's a little older that will make traveling a little easier and lighter hopefully. i highly recommend getting away to the beach during the winter here in the u.s.

Our new president is honest obama.... yea right! He's making himself out as an honest and transparent president. While he's appointing a treasure secretary who did not pay 34,000 in taxes. This is the guy who is going to be in charge of our bailout. Really this is the smartest thing to do right now. We're closing down Guantanamo Bay, and we're bringing all the terrorists to America. We'll give them American rights so they can get out of their charges. Man this administration is on a roll. We'll be out of debt in no time and safer than when President Bush was in office. I'm tired of the liberal crap, can we fast forward 4 years?

cancun trip

i've been thinking about the trip to cancun and i'm ready to pack my bags and get out of here. i'm so ready to hit the beach, get a tan and not worry about work. it's been 3 years since we were in cancun, hopefully this time we won't need to sleep on the floor. this time we've got andie and a little more family. the last thing i need is sleeping on the floor with the in-laws and a 8 month old. joy, andie and beach thats all i need on my vacation.

where's the snow! i'm loving the cold, but i'd like some snow with the freezing cold. everyone this year has had a ton of snow except us. what's up with that? just a little please 6 to 8 inches. i've missed the snow this winter and it would be nice to make snow angles with andie.

I had the day off and I spent the day cleaning and picking up the house. Oh did I mention we were cooking dinner for the family. What kind? A thanksgiving dinner. I spent 3 hours basting the freaking turkey! Why does it take so freakin long to cook. It turned out great, thanks to joy.

these are just a few things that bring me joy and make me feel good. one thing that makes me really happy is just staring at andie facial expressions. she makes me laugh more than myself. i love it when we'll be in bed talking and just as we're falling asleep one of us will say something really random & dumb. that always wakes us up laughing. my advise laugh and laugh some more because its good for you and you burn calories for you calorie counting freaks

New remote

I got my new universal remote today and it is amazing. I can control everything with just one remote instead of 4. When I upgrade to apple tv I'll be able to control that too. It can also control motorized shades and a ton more. I would highly recommend getting one. It makes watching movies and tv so much better.

here we are in the new year 2009, and 2008 is out of here, so happy new year! 08 had a lot of changes i.e. working at UPS part-time in the middle of the night,trying to be a new dad which was the biggest one and balancing my time with joy, andie and family/friends. i'm looking foward to 09 for big changes in our lives. new jobs, goals and andie learning to walk. we know that the best is yet to come.

well i'm still alive and breathing. i've been getting up around 1:30am for work, so it's been a little crazy for me lately. sorry i haven't been posting but i've been doing a lot of napping when i can. if i'm not working or napping, i'm working on andies christmas present. i've been off work these past 3 days because of the cold weather and ice. which reminds me i have to get back to andies christmas present.

my beautiful little girl is one of the most amazing people i know. each day is like watching a living story play out in front of my eyes. being her dad, knowing that she is a part of me makes everything she does more meaningful. and it's like watching myself as 5 month old child learning everything for the first time. she brings joy and laughter into our lives. i look forward to all the incredible things that come along with being a dad. i will always tell that i love her very much and that i am so proud of her. being a parent has its surprises. it's not one of those jobs that you can get a book like "parents for dummies". the one thing that i do know is that when i see her every morning and afternoon when i come home from work, i get the biggest smile from her. she makes me the proudest and strongest dad in the whole world. as i go to bed each night i tell myself "i wonder what new thing she will do tomorrow".

craziest day

so just to get things started off on telling you about my day. my companies back up driver did not show up for work today so i was running back and forth between jobs and moving equipment between jobs. we we're having problems with 8" thick of asphalt which is normally 4" so what was suppose to take 1 day to remove is turning into 2 days of removing.

if this wasn't hectic enough on one of the delivery runs one of the chains on the trailer decided to brake at the intersection of 61st and yale during the lunch hour. as i look in my rear view mirror i see our backhoe rolling back. the good thing about this trailer is that the ramps flip on to the trailer acting like a speed bump. this little feature saved me big time from a very costly accident.

all i have to say is that prayers in the morning really work and a good attitude go a long way.

trying to balance work with family is still something i'm still working on. its been one of the biggest things for me to try to "fix". at times it feels like i fixed it and other times it feels like i have no control of it. when i stop to think about it, i remind myself that the one in real control is God. knowing that all things are taken care of including my families needs. i know that everything will work out in the end for me and family. i will continue to put God first and my family prosper and have their needs met because of it. i love them so much and i cherish the time i have with them.

this morning i woke up the the soft touch of andies small hands. i looked over at her and the first thing i see is a big smile. i love it when i come home every morning from ups and i see the one of the biggest smiles in the whole world. every morning and every night i get to see two of the women i love more than anything. working 13 hours a day doesn't seem so bad after knowing that joy and anide are happy and good.

I'm back hopefully for a while, I'll try to blog as much as i can. this would be a little easier if i had a iPhone( directed at joy ;) ) anyways for the time being i will do my best.

today as i was leaving ups they gave me sheet where mechanics are making fun of our pilots(ups). there is a sheet the pilots fill out and with the problem and space for the mechanics to fill out what they did to fix the problem. I'll share my favorite one with you.

Pilot: there is a sound coming from under the control panel, it sounds like a midget with a hammer pounding something

my side was hurting so much i couldn't breath. i thought this was funny as he!!, it was so funny i started busting out laughing in the middle of reading it. let me know if you thought it was funny. if you want some more let me know.

it's kinda funny i got my wife on blogging and then i stopped blogging. now she got me back into it, kinda funny. i love my life with Joy and Andie it, i wouldn't trade for anything. I'm looking forward to spending sometime with them this weekend.
